The Sunrise Cafe in Middleton has been reserved for our TVW Whips business meeting on Monday, January 15, at 1 pm.
Please note the day and time change. This is the Martin Luther King Day holiday, so Robin and Merry Jo don't have school.
We hope that the change will allow people who don't like to drive at night and those that usually work to attend.
We will be having our annual elections and planning out our activities for 2018, so we need everyone's input.
At our last business meeting in November, we only had 4 people attend, and we didn't have a quorum. We had 10 people attend the Christmas party at Merry Jo's house in December.
This is your chance to weigh in on this year's plans! We hope to see many of you there!
If you would like to add items to the meeting agenda, email Merry Jo. firstname.lastname@example.org.
May 8, 2017 I am sad to report that we have made the decision to cancel the Drive in the Park due to lack of sufficient entries. Last year we had 42 paid entries with a couple of scratches. This year we have approximately 22 entries total. With this low level of entries, the event would be several thousands in the red over and above the Treasure Valley Whips subsidy of $2,500 – the highest we have had in a few years. The club fundraises all year to help make this event happen but we have to have at least 35-40 to make it a go even with this and other sponsorship support. The club’s membership will be evaluating holding this event in 2018 – perhaps this year’s low entry count was just a combination of our past abominable winter and flooded spring. There are many events that compete for our time in this day and age – I hope that this year’s low entries are not indicative of what we have to look forward to in our sport. Thank you for your support of our event – you are the ones that we work for to have a fun event – and we apologize that we have to take this action. Finally, I will miss seeing you all in Nampa. Let’s focus on 2018! Very truly yours, Amanda Horton
We will be having a business meeting on Wednesday,September 20, at 6:30 pm at John and Mary Munson's house.
